Training Squads
 
Gold Group
 
The Gold group is our highest-level competitive group of elite athletes committed to achieving National Junior Time Standards and representation at international meets such as CARIFTA, CCCAN and Commonwealth Youth Games.  In this group, there is a continued emphasis on stroke technique while incorporating more rigorous training, including dryland and beach training.  
 
Competition Level: Local meets, international travel meets (including National representation) and open water sea swims
 
Attendance Goal: 80%
 
Required Equipment: Mesh bag, kickboard, training fins, center snorkel, paddles, pull buoy and water bottle.  Appropriate dryland clothes, shoes and a yoga mat.
 
Gold 1:
  • minimum of 6 sessions per week;
  • 10-12 swim meets per season, including CIASA Nationals; and
  • CI$1250 annual fee, including CIASA family membership fees
Gold 2:
  • minimum of 5 sessions per week;
  • 10-12 swim meets per season, including CIASA Nationals; and
  • CI$1250 annually, including CIASA family membership fees

Silver Group

 
Our Silver Group is designed to help skilled and committed athletes qualify for National Development Time Standards via continued technique focus, interval training and aerobic development.
 
Competition Level:  Local meets, club-level international travel meets and open water sea swims
 
Attendance Goal: 65%
 
Required Equipment: Mesh bag, kickboard, training fins, center snorkel, paddles, pull buoy and water bottle.  Appropriate dryland clothes, shoes and yoga mat.
  • minimum of 4 pool sessions per week;
  • 6-8 swim meets per season, including CIASA Nationals; and
  • CI$1050 annual fee, including CIASA family membership fees
 
Bronze Group
 
The Bronze group includes our younger swimmers, who continue to build their skills via technique-based training.  Advanced drills and skills and longer sets are progressively introduced to improve performance.
 
Bronze 1:
  • minimum of 2-3 pool sessions per week;
  • 3-5 swim meets per season; and
  • CI$850 annual fee, including CIASA family membership fees
Bronze 2 and 3:
  • minimum of 2 pool sessions per week;
  • 3-5 swim meets per season; and
  • CI$850 annual fee, including CIASA family membership fees
Competition Level:  Local meets,  club-level international travel meets and open water sea swims
 
Required Equipment:  Kickboard, training fins, center snorkel and water bottle

Development Group

  • Tues/Thurs morning sessions, Saturday time slot available;
  • Mon/Thurs beach sessions;
  • Eligible for participation in swim meets both locally and at club-level internal meets; and
  • CI$850 annual fee, including CIASA child membership (CI$825 if 18+)
 
Off-Island Swimmers
  • Participation during school and summer holidays;
  • Eligible for participation in swim meets both local and internationally (including National representation);
  • CI$115 annually, including CIASA child membership (CI$125 if 18+)
